Цель этого курса – подготовка слушателей к эксплуатации узлов GPRS. В программу курса входит изучение основ эксплуатации и обслуживания.

This course prepares the student to handle the GPRS Support Nodes in operation. Students learn to handle basic operations and fault management procedures.

• Обзор функций узлов SGSN и GGSN в сетях GSM и WCDMA.
• Изучение документации для узлов с целью использования ее для устранения аварий.
• Процедура определения серьезности ошибки и процедура эскалации проблемы.
• Принципы работы узла на уровне плат.
• Архитектура программных средств GSN.
• Архитектура аппаратных средств.
• Обзор структуры IP адресации.
• Обзор уровней рестартов узла
• Концепции PXM, CLI и OSS-RC.
• Использование GUI для устранения ошибок.
• Работа с командной строкой
• Запуск CLI в нескольких режимах и правила написания команд.
• Примеры использования команд CLI для выполнения несложных прожедур

On completion of this course the participants will be able to:

• Explain on overview level, the GSN in relation to other network elements in a GSM and WCDMA Systems Network.
• Explain the functionality and purpose of a SGSN and GGSN in a GSM and WCDMA Systems Network.
• Use the online system documentation (ALEX Datbase) on the node, to react to alarms
• Identify the severity of a fault in the GSN and act according to the escalation procedure.
• Follow the procedure to solve the cause of an alarm
• Explain the working principles of the node on board level.
• Explain the GSN software architecture
• Explain the overall GSN hardware architecture
• Explain the internal IP address structure on overview level.
• Explain the different restart levels of the node
• Explain the concept of the Packet Exchange Manager (PXM), the Command Line Interface (CLI) and Operation Systems Support — (OSS-RC)
• Use the Fault Management GUI
• Handle the Command Line Interface (CLI)
• Start the CLI in several modes and deal with the command syntax
• Use CLI commands to perform certain tasks

This course is based on theoretical and practical instructor-led lessons given in both classroom and in a technical environment using equipment and tools.

The target audience for this course is: System Technician, System Engineer. This audience is responsible for operation of the SGSN.
